LOCALS AT PLAY (excerpted from New Times
(Miami's Weekly Planet..)
Rock for a good at Churchill's Pub, the ''Cradle of Indie Music.'' Miami
bands are coming together for a benefit concert for Eric Haase, drummer
for the local bands Manchild and Raw B. Jae & the Liquid Funk. Haase
recently suffered a stroke and a brain aneurysm & had to undergo emergency
surgery. Since he was without medical insurance at the time, he's got
some serious bills piling up.
So Raw B. Jae & the Liquid Funk, The Dharma Bomb, Clambake, Nueva
York & The Hoovers are performing to help him out; cover is $5; all
proceeds go to Haase's medical bills.
Churchill's is at 5501 NE 2nd Ave., Miami

Local & Indie Music by Rene Alvarez
Churchill's dominates the weekend with great shows, teary good-byes, &
familial gatherings. Aren't you getting warm and fuzzy inside just thinking
about it?
The mission to get onetime local drummer Eric Haase back onstage comes
to Miami. Known around here for being a member of such bands as Manchild
and Raw B Jae & the Liquid Funk, the now Tampa-based drummer suffered
a severe aneurysm & stroke last February. Though recovering nicely,
he has years of expensive rehab awaiting him, & this is where you
can help. Raise some medical bill cash on Saturday, June 12, at Churchill's
Performing are the Dharma Bomb, Clambake, the Hoovers, and the return
of Raw B Jae & the Liquid Funk! That's what love does. Doors open
at 9 p.m., donations start at $5, and it's an 18-& over show. Can't
make it? Send a nice get-well card and a check made payable to The Benefit
for Eric Haase to Megan Donoho, 1914 S. Dale Mabry, Tampa, FL 33629 and
make sure Haas has nothing to worry about except getting back on the drums.
